Hope you all enjoyed the conference weekend as much as I did. I decided that because it was my last general conference I would watch it all in italian. (at least the 3 sessions we are able to see). There is a room for English one for Spanish and then the chapel is where it is broadcast in Italian all at the stake center which is the church in Rome 1, my old stomping grounds. The really really cool thing is that all the italian translation of the conference happens downstairs in the Rome 1 church. so if we are watching in italian the italian speaking part is coming through live. Sorella Marangoni, well I guess I could call her ariana now... she came to visit in Rome for the conference and while she was there they asked her to do the translating for one of the talks so when it was time she went down stairs and did it. it was so strange to hear her voice coming through, she did a really great job! I guess I should explain that it isn't just direct translating on the spot, the talks are sent earlier and there is a member who translates them all and so the person speaking reads the talk, but they also have to listen as they are doing it because sometimes people add lib or go off a little from there talk. It is all really really neat. I think when I am back home if I am really missing Italy I will just listen to the general conference and try and put the faces to the voices. all of conference was great but I really liked elder uchtdof's talk... Voi siete i mei mane. You are my hands. It really is true, that is one thing i have really learned in the mission. We are God's hands and the savior's hands here on earth to serve one another. I also loved the comparison he made with the 20 dollar bill. I just love general conference!
So this week was pretty good, although it is super hard to get a hold of people near holiday times... everyone just says, sure we would love to see ya, after the holidays! well we managed to get a lot done anyways and I am sure that this will be another great week. we are preparing for Giusy's baptism, and I was thinking about it the other day and you know what, since I have been here in Rome 2 (almost 5 transfers) I have seen 10 baptisms, and there are 3 in the works... that is amazing! really it is so amazing! I feel super blessed to be here in the area so close to the temple. I can not wait until the temple comes! it is going to be amazing!
I love you all and I hope that you all enjoyed Easter.
vi voglio bene!!!!
