Dirigetivi verso la luce!

Me and my Companion
I read something in the Liahona that really stood out to me the other day, "Nel percorrere il cammino della vita, dirigetivi sempre verso la luce e le ombre della vita resteranno dietro di voi" I was reading it in Italian and I think it sounds really beautiful in Italian, but the English translation is "As you walk through life, always walk toward the light, and the shadows of life will fall behind you." It is from the first presidency message of President Monson.

There is a member in our ward who we work with, she is a convert of less than a year, and often times she expresses sorrow for not having joined the church sooner. looking back on her life she can remember times when she was so close to finding the church, but it just didn't happen. I couldn't help but think of her when I read this quote thinking that yes there are years of her life that she was walking in shadows, but now with her face towards the sun aka The Son all life's shadows will always stay behind her.

this really was a good week, not for any one specific reason, just because i have really felt the love of my heavenly father. On Friday it Snowed!!!!! it only snowed for a little bit and of course it didn't last longer than an hour, but I was so excited to see it! I have missed snow, and I have always said that cold without snow makes no sense. While at English class in the far away city we were at a members house and she had some Josh Groban music playing, and yes mission rules say not to listen to that music but can I just tell you that I was nearly moved to tears, not because of the song or the music or even the lyrics, but because I could understand it! holy hannahs I remember listening to that exact same song, before the mission and it just being a bunch of Italian words to pretty music with absolutely no meaning and to walk into the room where that song is playing and to understand what was being said, the gift of tongues is real, and even if I am not a perfect amazing master of the Italian language, God has generously blessed me and I can even describe to you how amazing it is.

Alright to end of this email i will share something a little bit more exciting or entertaining. Sunday... valentines day, we had zone singing and the center of town was crazy and so full of people. There were big crowds, but the biggest crowd came at the end of the night as we were just singing our last song and this two men in full body (faces covered too, not even holes cut for their eyes or mouth) red spandex suits with their underwear on the outside came over to us and joined in singing. It was crazy, suddenly there was like a massive semi circle crowd forming around us and it was getting harder not to laugh, especially when one of the spandex men moved over by me to share my hymn book. Man what I would have given to have a picture of the whole situation, and you know there probably are pictures of it, and videos too, because there were a lot of people with cameras in the massive crowd. We even got a big applause at the end of the song. Maybe they were on to something... a new finding technique. ha ha

Well love you all!
