Roam if You Want to roam around the world

I heard that song in Hard Rock Cafe last Wednesday and it keeps popping into my head but it is applicable because it looks like I will continue to roam around Rome 2. I am ok with it because right now we have some awesome investigators and I am excited for another great transfer.

Angelo was baptized and confirmed this week! He was just beaming. The turn out at the baptism was really great and I so appreciated the support of the members. Me and my companion sang a few verses of I am a child of God (Sono un figlio di Dio) with the descant. I just love that song! It reminded my of my cute little leslie back in Livorno! I miss that girl!

In young women’s on Sunday me and my companion were able to take a few minutes to share a thought on missionary work and how the girls could help out. And lately I have just really been so appreciative of members and their willingness to befriend our investigators and come with us to appointments. It is so so so important it really does make a difference. Yesterday we had to member investigator appointments and both just left me so excited. Giusy, (short for Giusipina) is the daughter of Angelo and she is so cute and wonderful. we have just started teaching her and she has been coming to church for the past 3 weeks. our other appointment was with a really awesome family, a mom and 2 children, ages 20 and 25, so not really young, but still it is so great to see a whole family learning together instead of the usual division that there is between investigators and their other family members.

I is really cold in this internet point and I am trying to type while wearing gloves and it is really difficult! Just thought you would enjoy that random sidenote…

So also during this past week me and my companion had to visit the questura here in Rome. After a few problems we arrived a full hour late! I thought that we would have to try and reset an appointment however it ended up that arriving a full hour late to the questura is actually just on time and it happened to be our turn two minutes after being herded behind a gate with a bunch of other foreigners. The questura is a joke, super unorganized and yeah pretty much I think we are done for a while, thank goodness!!!!

So because this is short and boring here is a interesting story… people are weird. I have seen so many strange things here in the mission. The other day we were at a big train and bus station sitting on a bus that was about to pull out of the station and right as it started to move this man, who was probably drunk or on drugs came running over and put his foot under the wheel of the bus. I just happened to be sitting in the window sit right next to the rear tire that he put his foot under. The bus is a really super long express and so no one else really noticed or cared and the man ran off, so he couldn’t have been that hurt. I still don’t know what he was trying to do.

On another side note, I decided that one day when I become rich I am going to travel the world and one of the places at the top of my list to visit is the Philippines. They cook some good food! Me and my companion ate at a members home after church on Sunday and they are from the Philippines. He is the only member in his family, but the wife loves to cook for people and she makes a ton of food!!! Not even kidding. We tried to thank her once for giving us some cakes for Christmas so we made her some cookies and dropped them off at her home and she wouldn’t let us leave until she had filled an entire grocery sack with food and treats. Some how I just don’t think will ever come out on top. :)

Well I love you all! Have a great week!
