Highlights of the Week

Allora,

So Last week for p-day we had an intense game of ultimate frisbee. So intense that even though it was definitely coat weather we walked home without our jackets. I decided that, that is a great finding tool because we were stopped and asked, what are you doing!! Aren’t you freezing? By a man in a big coat and scarf, we explained who we were and invited him to scone night ( a party that the sommerfeldts were having) and he came. He wants to come to English class and according to me that means that he is only one short step away from accepting an invite to learn about the church. Scone Night was awesome! Not just because of this man, Filomeno, but also because there were some really awesome potential investigators, and investigators there! Activities are so important for missionary work.

The other highlights of the week…

Angelo set a baptism date! Cool. He is reading the scriptures and keeping commitments, so cool! Hopefully all will continue to go well.

We saw the biggest olive tree in Europe, coincidentally it is in the same area as Italy’s best pizza, (that actually wasn’t that great, but hey there was a trophy in the store and a certificate on the wall). Hmm…

There were new faces at English class here in rome (not the far away one) although a few creepers as well, but hey we are all children of God right.

We saw some man relieving himself in the middle of the street (not by any bushes or trees or large structures to obstruct vision of people passing by) Gross!!!! This was not really a highlight, but I just had to mention it.

We had some awesome member missionary work going!!! I love it when this happens. Seriously there is a statistic that says for every 1000 people missionaries contact on their own, 1 will be baptised, if we mention the name of someone who has referred someone to us 80 out of 1000, if the member introduces us to the person 360 out of 1000 and if the member introduces us and invites us to teach this person in their home 2/3rds of 1000 people are baptised. Member missionary work is so so so important!

Alright so that was basically our week. We also had some awesome miracle moments like re-seeing people who we’d contacted once when the chances of seeing them again were slim to nothing, however sometimes miracles are only miracles when someone acknowledges the Lord’s hand in their life. I pray that I will never take for granted the countless miracles I am apart of every day!

I love this gospel. It is everything!

Hope your week is great!!! Stay healthy! And pray for missionary opportunities cause they are there!

Vi voglio bene!!!
