Hey All
We had an amazing zone conference this past week and I love being a missionary! We have some high hopes and goals for this transfer and I know that with the lord’s help we can accomplish them!
This week me and my companion have been working with a man named Angelo. He came to church with a random man who just moved back to Italy after living in the UK for a long time. He is a member, or at least he was baptized a long time ago… (I am not sure how active he has been or currently is I don’t really know anything about him.) Anyways Angelo is great. We have already had 2 lessons with him this week and have another planned for tomorrow. He has prayed about the book of Mormon, committed to stop smoking, and accepted a soft invite. I hope that we can continue to work with him and help him progress towards baptism! He speaks Spanish and he has some connections with Bolivia and said how he really thought that what we had would really be useful to the people there and we told him that there were missionaries there as well and he got real excited. He lived in California for a year in a string of Italian restaurants and he is like a professional piano player. I will keep you updated on him.
Some of the hardest parts of missionary work are seeing such amazing miracles happen and then watching people either deny, rationalize, or forget completely these miracles. There is a verse in 3 Nephi chapter 2 that talks about how the people began to forget the miracles and they grew less and less astonished at a sign or wonder from heaven. I know that God has his hand in our lives and he is directing our path, the thing well all must learn to do is to acknowledge his hand and follow him. I feel so blessed that I am apart of so many miracles whether or not they end in happily ever after. God is great!
I love you all so much and I love this work. The gospel is amazing and true and it is the only thing in this world that will bring you true and lasting happiness!
Sorry this is short. Vi voglio bene!!!
