Allora, this week... what to report...
Well the weather has been better in these last few days, meno male! it was freezing! Last p-day was wonderful we just lounged around the apartment and it felt so good! This week we actually have some appointments with some people we couldn't see any other day, but we are hoping to make up the lost hours tomorrow morning. there are some markets that are only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays so we we'll hopefully be able to check one of those out. I have no idea if there is anything good there, cause I have never been due to the fact that p-day is always on a Wednesday. hopefully it won't be a disappointment.
Me and my companion have been enjoying the fresh air and beauty of the country out in Montopoli ( the place where we go for English class.) There are really no reliable busses and everything is so much more spread out that we have been doing quite a bit of walking each week. We had an appointment with someone who lived up there in-between English classes and it was a 45 minute walk on a curvy canyon road. It was a really pretty walk so I can't complain. In the evenings we have started doing an English class at this refugee type center and last time we were there they invited us to stay for dinner with them. everyone had made a dish typical to their country. it was good, and they all seemed so excited to share it with us. us being me and my companion as the Elders had another appointment elsewhere.
Sunday was awesome because we saw some people in church that we hadn't seen for a while, and one that we had never seen in church. I was so excited when I walked into the chapel and saw them!!! I wanted to jump for joy, but our ward is working on its reverence so I contained my excitement.
Monday me and my companion were able to help the elders out by teaching Maria, there investigator who is preparing for baptism in a week. They were out of the city (they are the assistants to the president so they are always traveling) and asked if we could help them out... conveniently enough it just so happened the lesson they needed us to teach was the law of chastity. I guess what goes around comes around, when we were working with Angelo we also had a scheduling conflict and the elders taught him the law of chastity for us. It wasn't bad at all, and I think something about teaching in a foreign language helps to take the awkward factor down a couple notches.
Yesterday was Giusy's birthday. She is the daughter of Angelo. She just turned 21 and some family friends have bought her a plane ticket to go to Las Vegas (where they live) for 3 months... hopefully she will commit to baptism before she leaves in a few months... actually we are really close to setting a date with her so I will be sure to let you know about her progress.
Well I am running out of time. Have a great week!!! Be good member missionaries, do your visiting and home teaching, and magnify your callings. :) any other cliché lines I can give ya? oh yeah give referrals to the missionaries! love you all!
