Magandang Hapon!

Magandang Hapon!

That is Tagalog for Good afternoon. I am learning a few Tagalog phrases in honor of our Philippinen investigator, Louisa, who has a baptism date for next Sunday. We were at her home yesterday evening for a party and as anyone who has ever been to a Philippino party knows it just isn’t a party with out karaoke and beer. And together that combination equals really good entertainment. Naw.. There wasn’t that much beer and really only two people were drunk, and in the end the elders gave a great spiritual thought. I am pretty excited for Louisa, I can really see she has made many changes.

So my companion finishes the mission in a week and I am yet to find out where exactly I will be. We’ll see. I will be sure and fill you in next week. And then two weeks after that I will tell you how real transfers go and who my real companion will be for the next transfer.

Things are going well with our English class in the little city outside of Rome. Last week after one of the classes a woman sat down with us and just expressed how impressed she was to see us young people, especially young men, who had so much joy for life and so much respect. She said she could just see this light coming from our faces and she just wanted to know why we are the way we are. We had a very good conversation and this week we have plans to teach her a first lesson. I love this gospel so much and the light it brings.

It is getting closer to Christmas. I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas spirit there and that you can feel the savior’s love that he has for each and every one of us.

Good luck with the week.
