Good News

Can I just tell you how much I love being a missionary! Cause it is true I do. I guess I will start this e-mail off with the most exciting news I've just found about. Iolanda has a baptism date for this Saturday!!! For anyone who doesn't recognize that name, she is an investigator from Pescara that I talked about in half my letters. Please if you can, or if you remember, pray for her. I know that the week leading up to a baptism is always full of trials! I found out on Monday that someone from Pescara was getting baptised this weekend from our Zone Leaders and when all the information they had was that it was an investigator of the sister's companionship I was going crazy wondering who it was. I hoped so badly that it was Iolanda, but yesterday that hope was reaffirmed. (I gave the zone leaders strict orders that they had to let me know as soon as they found out who it was.) Oh how I wish I could be there for it, but it is enough for me just to know it is happening.

Yesterday was just an all around great day. I found out about Iolanda, I got some awesome letters and my companion got a package, we ate brownies, played a really funny game in English class and to finish off the day I made my companion cut off 4 inches of my hair. Have I mentioned before that it is hot! Cause it is. Aubrey told me that she bought bret a ceiling fan for their anniversary and I am so jealous! Our apartment kinda has a problem, it is great and spacious and open and well furnished, however there are only two functioning outlets and one or two temperamental ones that work only when they feel like it or if we are pressing them hard into the wall. Of the two functioning outlets one holds the plug to our refrigerator and the other is left to switch back and forth between everything else, the stove, the microwave, the cd player, our hairdryers or flat irons, and the most important thing of all at this time of year, our fan. We can get the fan in our room to run if we push the book case against the outlet in just the right way (thank goodness or I just might suffocate in the night!) but we also have to balance the fan on top of a pillow because apparently the vibrations are so bothersome that our downstairs neighbor just can't sleep if we run our fan. Anyways back to the point, I decided that my hair was just too much for me to handle in this heat (it's like having a quilt on your head!) so I cut it off! Don't worry it isn't that drastic, but it does feel so much better now. I will try to get a picture to you. Oh and our English class game. I wanted to real quick tell you about it cause I thought it was funny. We had all the students write down a sentence and then pass their paper over to the next person and then they all had to draw a picture of the sentences they received then cover up the sentences and pass the pictures. Then everyone had to write what sentence they thought went with the pictures and then fold down the picture. And so on... we passed it around until it was back to the original writer of the first sentence and then we unfolded it all to see the out come. My first sentence was “he ate a huge hamburger with his pet snake.” and the final sentence ended up being “I am going to shoot a snake that killed a turtle.” ha ha good times. I recommend that game to all of you.

So today we went to Pisa for P-day. It was fun. There is a member in our ward who offered to give us a tour of some of the sights and so we spent the morning their taking pictures and learning about Italian buildings and family crests. It was pretty cool. I think I took more pictures there in Pisa then I have anywhere else and I am not even serving in that city.

Finding work has been going better for me and Sorella Crandall. We are really trying to push ourselves, and I just know that this transfer will be awesome.
