I can't believe I have been here for a full transfer now! It looks like I will be in Pescara for at least 6 more weeks. Me and my companion sister Steensen are staying put. She goes home at the end of this new transfer so I can at least predict that I will have a new companion next time transfers roll around.
There is a tradition the missionaries have here, every transfer Monday after our district meeting we eat lunch together. We rotate bringing the lasagna, tiramisu, paper products and drinks. It was our turn to make the tiramisu. yum! It was a little sugary, but i think it turned out well. The lasagna was good too.
It has been raining all week off and on which for me means two things, coldness and frizzy hair. ha ha oh well who am I trying to impress? I look forward to the summer months not just for the warmth but also for the gelato.
So mom asked if there was anything funny or interesting I saw or did this week... hmm... Oh ok so we visit this inactive lady who has kind of poor health and smokes like a chimney, and when ever we visit her we ring the buzzer and after she asks who it is we say Siamo le sorelle! (its the sisters) and she opens the gate and then she comes out on the balcony and drops the key down to her front door and we unlock it and come up. (she is one of the few people who actually has a house.) Well She told us that a few days ago she answered her buzzer and they said siamo le sorella and she opened the gate and came out to drop the key and there were two girls, but one was real bundled up so she couldn't really tell who it was and she didn't recognize the other but she dropped down the key and they were like what do we do with this and she answered, open the door and come up. So they did and when they came up she realized they were Jehovah's Witnesses, ha ha. She was all, your not my sorelle! I thought you were my sorelle from my church. ha ha so now we say siamo le sorelle di sua chiesa when we buzz ha ha.
Oh something else strange I saw yesterday was a man with a huge gross bushy long mustache!
Hmm... ok this email may or may not be better than last weeks email, but I am open to suggestions, any questions you have or anything you want to know all you gotta do is write me and ask. :)
I love being a missionary. I know that this work and this church is true. I just wish there was an easier way to let the rest of the world know! Some people are just so stubborn and close minded. For example there is the argument that Jesus Christ is the truth, and that is the one truth we are all searching for, and it doesn't matter what religion we practice as long as we are reaching that one truth. Hmmm... ok? Also it is so sad to me to see how full of inactives our member books are! Any of you returned missionaries out there or anyone with any ideas of how to work with inactives and involve the ward, please send them my way! I am open to suggestions, anything you found that worked especially well. I am working hard to invite the spirit and draw closer to the savior, because he knows way better than I do how to help his children. Oh one suggestion or request for all of you, look for missionary opportunities and ways to share the Gospel where you are. And if you aren't finding any then pray for them! :)
I love you all. I am so grateful for your constant love and support. Be safe and healthy and happy!

From Uncle Joe in Georgia - We Love You Ashley!!! And you are in our prayers every day.
Here's a thought (not a suggestion) -
With inactives - we sometimes try the "Low Hanging Fruit" combined with the "Bind The Lord" approach...
I would imagine it would work for other aspects of missionary labors as well.
