Hello everyone!!! I am writing you all from the beautiful Pescara. Well, beautiful if you don't look at all the garbage every where, but then again the whole country is kind of dirty. Normally my P-day will be Wednesday, but I am writing on Tuesday, because this week we have zone conference on Wednesday. My companion is Sister Kristina Steensen from New Port Oregon. She is really nice! And our apartment is huge! Well not like way huge, but pretty big for the 2 of us!
Hmm... so let's see, I should probably start from the beginning, when we got off the plane in Rome we ended up talking to some man (in English) and placing a book of Mormon. That was pretty cool, though I can't really take any credit, because it was mostly my companion Sorella Watson and Anziano Herick who did the talking (they were talking to him when we got of the plane and the rest of us came up and joined them.) Afterwards we went and found our luggage and then looked around for the Acerson's. There was no sign of them, so we gathered in a corner where we were out of the way and waited about 20 minutes before the APs showed up and we left in 2 big vans with the Acersons.
We stopped at a pizza place and ate some real Italian pizza. It is different, but good. They have all different types of pizza, potato pizza, hot dog pizza.. I was safe and got ham. After that we went on a tour of the City. Amazing!!! It is so beautiful! We rode the local transportation system and returned back to the mission president's home where we had a wonderful dinner of Lasagna and tiramisu (spelling). It was so good!
The next day we drove to the temple site, and again it was beautiful. We came back and ate lunch and then it was time for Golden transfers! Our trainers were there and we got to go up one by one and open up a golden envelope with our assignments in them. Then we got to take a picture with our trainer by a map pointing to our area.
I am leaving out a lot of details, cause there is just too much to type and to say and this keyboard is a little weird. I cant figure out all the punctuation buttons, so sorry if this is punctuated weird.
I really am so happy to be here! Mom, you would never survive in a car down here, and I don't even mean as a driver, but as a passenger. People drive super fast and crazy, they straddle the lines, and not even a little. In fact the lines on the road mean nothing! A 3 lane road here is a 5 or 6 lane road, and if a car wants to turn or switch lanes it just sticks its nose in front of someone and forces its way in. It's crazy!
Sunday was good, I met the members and I've gone to a few appointments with some of our investigators. I don't understand a lot, which is kind of frustrating, but its getting a little better everyday. Its kind of like one of those magic eye pictures, you stare at it forever and ever and you feel like a dork because you cant see the picture that everyone else can see and sometimes it starts to come into focus, but then you blink and you lose it. I can sometimes pick out parts of conversations, but it is super difficult to follow a whole conversation.
I don't know how much time I have left, so I am gonna end this now just in case.
I love you all!!!!
