Halloween was great in the MTC, because we didn't really even celibrate it! (I really don't much care for Halloween!) Me and my companion carved apples at dinner. I took a picture of it, so I'll send that home for you to see.
L Tom Perry came and spoke to us last Tuesday. It was my first time seeing an apostle up close and in person. I've only ever seen them on TV! (aside from D. Todd) And I was on the 8th row! I was a little dissapointed that he used a teleprompter the whole time, but I definitely felt the spirit he carries with him.
This past Sunday was fast sunday and so we had mission conference! It was amazing! President and Sister Boone are some of the most wonderful people in this world! Sister Boon talked about the Temple and it's comparason's to a mission. The list she gave was so long, it was an amazing talk. President Boone uses more quotes, stories, jokes than anyone I know and he's talks always always make me so pumped and ready to go! After mission conference we had testimony meeting. we were allowed to have it in English, and all the departing missionaries got up and bore some of the most powerful testimonies I've ever heard! It was incridible! at the end of the meeting all 28 departing missionaries (they left this morning by the way) got up and sang the closing song "hark all ye nations" in Italian. It was so powerful. I couldn't hold back the tears at the thought that before I Know it, it's gonna be me packing up to go to Italy. I am so excited and I feel so blessed!
so we lost 28 missionaries today, but on wednesday we get 8 new ones, all of which are going to Catania. then 3 weeks later we get about 14 more who will be going to rome and milan. It is so amazing to me that no matter what, every Wednesday from now until the work is done there will be new missioniaries. What a blessing!
After sacrament meeting on sunday we had a district testimony meeting. Later that night we had a speaker Brother Thomas. I am not sure of his background or who he was, his talk was... nice. It kinda made me feel like I was back at college the way he was disecting vrs of scripture to look at poetic from and structure. ha ha. Sunday nights we get to watch a movie. Me and my companion watched the Joseph Smith movie, and as always it so impresses me to see the character of Jospeh Smith. What an amazing example he is!
I love you all and I am so grateful for your continuing love and support. I am so blessed to have so many good examples in my life.
