I was talking to a friend just yesterday about temples and how I really wished Italy would get one soon.
As conference started, President Monson began talking about temples and I thought to myself "He's going to announce a temple in Italy." Of course you may just count it as wishful thinking, but it was more than that, I really felt like he was going to do it. As President Monson began announcing 5 new temples to be built I sat up on the edge of my seat repeating over and over in my mind Italy, Italy, Italy. "Calgary Alberta, Canada” Italy, “Córdoba, Argentina” Italy, “the greater Kansas City area” Italy, “Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.." and then I swear he paused for what felt like forever before he finished with "Rome, Italy!" The excitement I felt was indescribable!
Now I realize that it may be a few years before the temple is started or completed, but the fact that it has been announced makes me so happy! I love the temple! I feel so blessed to live so close to so many beautiful temples. I recently attended the Salt Lake temple, where I marveled at the intricate detail and hand crafted elements of the temple’s interior. No wonder it took them 40 years to build it! While I was at that temple I felt with certainty that the temple is the house of God and that attending the temple was both an immediate blessing and the means to even more blessings. I am so excited for the announcement of all the new temples. I love to see the temple!
